Fundraiser to raise money for Shuumi Land Tax

One of the values we have at Oak Heart Forest Program is caring for the land that we lead our classes on. We believe that by creating direct, rewarding and nourishing sensory experiences with Nature, children will naturally begin to develop strong, loving and meaningful connections to the natural world. One way we can do this is by supporting local organizations like Sogorea Te’ Land Trust who work to support rematriation, and facilitating the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.

Through supporting our fundraiser, your contribution will be used to donate to the Shuumi Land Tax, which funds "caring for land, cultivating urban gardens, cultural regeneration work, urban emergency response strategies, engaging in public education and advocacy, and nurturing Indigenous resilience." We are honored we get to explore this land for our outdoor program and value the work this local organization does for the people of our surrounding community.

Fundraiser is currently live and will close on September 29th.

We hope you will consider donating in support of this cause.
